Life Enrichment

Tina Toner is our full time Life Enrichment Coordinator.  She plans and carries out activities both inside and outside the community.  There are MANY opportunities for our residents to participate and experience to enrich their lives.  Below are highlighted reoccurring events for your review.  Residents and families are encouraged to share suggestions for new or different activities they would like to see.  We encourage those who would like to get involved as volunteers to let us know.  Our residents love interacting with a variety of people.

Activities/outings:

Seasonal: 

Walk and Talk indoors or outdoors, lemonade in the sunroom or out on the deck and socializing, resident garden, ice cream socials, rootbeer floats, visiting a pumpkin farm, lunch or dinner out , musicals, plays, concerts in the park, food drive, breast cancer fundraiser, bake sale, cooking club, bus takes residents to vote, pie tasting, hot chocolate and cookies, operation elf, holiday building decorating, Christmas lights drive, and holiday parties

Weekly:

Scheduled In-town shopping/appointments, happy hour, manicures, euchre tournament, euchre for beginners, bingo, puzzles, movie and popcorn in-house,    exercise: Monday through Friday two classes Advanced and Chair (our exercise classes have been approved by the Physical Therapy Department of theMendotaCommunityHospital)

Monthly:

Resident Birthday Party to celebrate all birthdays occurring in that month, lunch or dinner dining out, out-of-town shopping, resident council meeting, community service projects, pancake breakfast (residents are allowed to invite family and friends), trivia information and games, craft projects, two times a month compete in the Wii Bowling Tournament, other  services that are available to our residents here at the community are:  podiatrist and hearing aide services, flu shot clinics and blood pressure and diabetes screenings.

 Occasionally:

Visits from boyscouts and headstart preschoolers, Presentations from local service groups and organizations, hand waxing, blankets of hope for soldiers, musical entertainment, historical tours.

Games:

Wheel of  Fortune; Left, Right, and Center; Scrabble; Dominos; Bunco; Bridge; Euchre; Pinochle; Yahtzee; Skip-Bo; Uno; Horse Race; Darts

Spiritual Opportunities:

Church services provided by numerous denominations
